May 12, Lotte rated it really liked it Shelves: Very enjoyable. Listened to the audiobook of this and I really liked how it was narrated by the boys themselves. For some reason I didn't read this at the height of my 1D phase, but I'm kinda glad about it.

I could look at it from more of a distance now. I appreciated that they didn't just rehash things they already said in interviews a million times, it truly gave a unique perspective. Oct 18, Jody rated it really liked it Shelves: I honestly would love to read this if they wrote it years from now because even though I believe they were being honest, I'm sure there was a lot of hon Ok I honestly would love to read this if they wrote it years from now because even though I believe they were being honest, I'm sure there was a lot of honesty left out because of the fact that they're still in the thick of all of it It was a bit repetitive I can't give my boys less than 4 stars cause I just wouldn't feel right, and I did enjoy getting their perspectives, but it did get a little hard to read in the middle of each chapter Good job overall, loved this pictures: Dec 27, Jenna Jessup rated it it was amazing.

I enjoyed reading this book a lot. I've always liked this band but reading this book I was able to read how they truly felt and how they actually perceived different events. It's so cool to read their thoughts and I love that they wrote thus autobiography. It was interesting to learn so much more about them.

You don't really have to be a huge fan of theirs to read this book because once you read it you will have this sort of respect for them. I really loved this book. Feb 26, Cherylyn Ebertz rated it it was amazing. I've always been a casual fan of One Direction Their new album is legitimately amazing. I'm encouraged to become a better artist and hope that if I was ever given an opportunity to do something awesome I would work as hard as these lads have to achieve their success.

Mar 12, Ashley rated it it was ok Shelves: One Direction, lads, I love you and all, but oof, that was kind of boring. The best part were the pictures of Harry, and the ebook copy I borrowed from the library had them all formatted awkwardly so they were all cut off and whatnot. So even that was a bummer.

In all seriousness though, I was hoping for a linear tale of the boys' career, something that followed them from X Factor to But instead, it was a chapter from each guy One Direction, lads, I love you and all, but oof, that was kind of boring.

But instead, it was a chapter from each guy, talking about the same moments in their career: It was just all the same stories repeated five times. I ended up skimming a fair amount. On the plus side, this book got me watching YouTube videos of the Today Show and the Olympics, which in turn got me watching the Spice Girls reunion at the Olympics, which got me a little teary. Any excuse to watch Spice Girls is a-okay with me!

May 29, Ilse rated it really liked it Shelves: Oh how fun it was to revisit One Direction through this audiobook. I remember it being to expensive for me at the time and just never bought it. Now I found the audiobook of this and it kind of just felt like and hour and 45 minute long interview. While I still really like One Direction and the members of the group it's been a long time since I did something Oh how fun it was to revisit One Direction through this audiobook.

While I still really like One Direction and the members of the group it's been a long time since I did something like this, listen quite a long time to them etc. And since at the time I knew everything about them that there was available on the internet I was pleasantly surprised to find them talk about new stuff I didn't know.

Now at the same time it was also a bit dissapointing, every member of the group kind of talked about the same experiences so that got a bit repetitive at a certain point but I did really enjoy it.

One Direction

I do realise that with listening to the audiobook I missed a lot of the experience of reading the actual book and seeing all the pictures, maybe ever. Feb 09, evelina added it. I'm sick, been home from school, been bored and I miss One Direction. So, I've watched This Is Us and I've listened through all their music, so I decided, why not listen to this audiobook while I'm in the mood for some 1D?

I wont give this a rating because it's not a great book. It's repetitive and not the best written, but it's One Direction so I wanna give it 5 stars just for that reason. Therefore it feels unfair to rate it. It broke my heart when Louis my precious little bean who dese Well.

It broke my heart when Louis my precious little bean who deserves the best talked about him not being confident with his voice. He talked about him not feeling important for the band during X-factor since he didn't have any solo AT ALL and that he started to feel more confident about his voice while working on Midnight Memories.

I Read The New One Direction Book... And, Yes, It’s Fascinating

Also, Zayn talking about him feeling bad for solo-artists really hit right in the feels. Apr 11, Erica rated it liked it. It's not anything phenomenal as far as the writing and you can tell that they are each following a specific format and timeline so it doesn't feel very natural.

I'd say Harry's section is the best as far as feeling more authentic and letting his personality show.

It was good for a beginner 1D fan like me to learn a little bit more about each member. I hope some of them write books later in life where they say all the things they really wanted to say, but couldn't because that had a band image th It's not anything phenomenal as far as the writing and you can tell that they are each following a specific format and timeline so it doesn't feel very natural.

I hope some of them write books later in life where they say all the things they really wanted to say, but couldn't because that had a band image they had to uphold.

Jul 23, Matilda rated it it was ok. As a huge One Direction fan or at least once upon a time you would think I'd like this book. I don't. I see no originality and I feel like this was written only to make more money. The book itself is a one star-read but I give it two stars because of the audiobook that makes my heart melt. God, I miss them You feel me? Oct 12, Daisy Gonzalez rated it liked it. I'm 22 and a huge One Direction fan!

I will always support them on everything and I knew this book wasn't going to be mind-blowing but I'm so whipped by them, that I will seriously download anything they sell. As others have said this book is very repetitive.

They all talk about the same exact events that by the time I got to Louis chapter, which was last, I was just skimming at that point. The absolute best part of the book in my opinion was Zayn's chapter! I'll admit, Zayn owns a bigger chunk of my h I'm 22 and a huge One Direction fan! I'll admit, Zayn owns a bigger chunk of my heart than the rest of them do so I might just be biased but I loved his section.

I loved how he mentioned the fact that he's mixed race and what it was like for him growing up that way in school. He got into more of the real downsides of being in the band, like being away from home, his girlfriend and missing his family. Also his way of writing is so different than the other guys, even though I know they had help with the writing process, his just sounded so personal. Absolutely loved it! I would love to read a book solely written by him.

Also another highlight was the first part of Louis chapter.

"one direction"

I always think of him as the really easy going, funny one so my heart was broken when he talked about how he felt to never get solos. It was so sad. He has never really mentioned how that affected him before so to finally hear how his confidence was lowered because of it makes me respect him so much more now.

He's worked so hard and grown so much, I'm proud of him. This personal stuff is what I wanted from this book and I know they want to keep their private life but I feel that if your going to write a book you have to talk about the personal stuff.

Also half of the pictures were taken right off Instagram so they weren't really new. Overall it was an ok book the best part was Zayn and Louis. I honestly don't really remember what Liam, Niall and Harry's chapters were even about because they all kind of blended together. I love One Direction and I think their careers have been amazing so far and they have accomplished a lot. Hopefully they continue to have success and I'll continue to download everything they put in my face!

May 10, Ashli rated it liked it. Of course I'm reading this years after it's release. Also it's been a bit of time since One Direction broke off. I found this book at Goodwill for cheap though. I still wanted to read it.

If anyone knows me knows that I actually disliked One Direction with a passion at one point. They hit America like a hurricane no pun made since I live in Florida. I didn't like their music; I thought they were just generic and I didn't understand how they were so popular.

I even remember telling one of my bes Of course I'm reading this years after it's release.

I even remember telling one of my best friends that I'd never get into their music. Two different people, at two different occasions, try to sell me on them. They showed me video diaries and the music videos that had been out at that certain time.

I was just meh about them and was like nope, no, sorry. Flash forward a bit. I was doing my research on them. I was watching interviews, the music videos that were out, and even watching their audition tapes.

That's it. I am not becoming a fan of them. I'm just not. Oooh, boy, was I fighting it. My cousin Lexi was a fan of them and she was spending time at my house. Their movie just came out and she wanted to see it.

At that time, my brother was actually working at the movie theater and could get family members in. So we went. To be honest, by that point, I was still in denial I was fan of theirs. In the end, even though, I was kicking and fighting it, I was like ugggggghhh, damn it you guys. They totally upped their game with that album. Now as a fan, I listen to the old music from the first two albums, and honestly, there's gems on both. It just took a bit for me to become a fan for me to find them.

I decided to share this because this book was published a little after the movie and the 'Midnight Memories' album was released. I liked his section okay enough. I always liked Liam.

It debuted at number one in the UK and in the US, making them the first group to debut at number one on the Billboard with its first three albums, and the second to reach the top after The Monkees in Nearly , copies of the film were sold in the UK within three days of its release, beating the record previously set by Michael Jackson's This Is It in by 10, copies.

See media help. One Direction's debut studio album, Up All Night , is predominantly a pop music record, containing elements of teen pop , dance-pop , pop rock , with electropop and rock influences.

There was no need to worry about a backing track or a bum note, a pleasant realization at a pop show. No one voice stood out. Liam Payne called Midnight Memories a "slightly rockier and edgier" album than their previous material.

The album is heavily influenced by 80's rock [] and folk music and briefly integrates elements of dubstep, notably in "Little White Lies". The album's lyrical themes primarily revolve around love, heartbreak and sexual intercourse.

Many critics praised its lyrical depth and musical composition, as well as the group's level of involvement in the production process.

Just boom, boom, boom. People take it different ways — especially when there are five different personalities. The relationships had broken apart. Because the last time it nearly killed me, frankly. However, when he tweeted out a message congratulating his fellow bandmates, he ended up not tagging Zayn. I spoke to him at Christmas then I spoke to him again a couple of months ago.

We get sad sometimes but we're all happy!
